If you are served with room temperature wine, then you can hold the glass on bowl, still, as much as possible, you should still pick it up by the stem even if the wine is served in room temperature.

The next step it to look at the color of the wine. You can do this by tipping the glass at a slight angle and looking at it with a white background. If the host of the party knows what wine tasting is all about, he or she should cover the table with white linen. The white background not only shows the wine in its best light but also look pretty.

The level of the wine should be held level to really appreciate the wine. The wine should now be slowly swirled around the glass walls. The reason this is done is to mix the wine with air cause the aroma to escape into the part of the glass that is empty. Then, move the glass close to your nose and inhale deeply. Savor the aroma and inhale again, you might want to exhale after inhaling as you may feel dizzy.After mixing the wine with the air inside the glass you are now to place the glass right under your nose to take a deep breath and appreciate the bouquet of the wine.}

You need to keep in mind that tasting wine is not about getting plastered by guzzling everything inside the glass but should only take tiny sips from the glass to capture the flavor. After having wine inside your mouth, you should taste the wine by rolling it around your tongue a few times before spitting it or swallowing it slowly.

By following these tips you will enjoy your wine tasting much better and really appreciate how good wine can be. Wine tasting parties can be fun and a great way to socialize and meet new people.
