Joining one of the experienced wine tasting groups would be recommended for a first timer. Joining this type of group will ensure you have well organized activities for each day. If your tour included moving from one vineyard to another most of the time will be traveling so it will need to set off early morning.

Taking 1 oz of wine is already enough to taste the wine and if you taste all the wines in the different vineyards you visit, it will surely add up. Driving after drinking so much is not a good idea so it would be a good idea to either leave the car and come back later to pick it up or have someone in your party as the designated driver for the day.

You can organize your own tour but using a company to plan the itinerary can be less stressful therefore more enjoyable. The company will be the one to make the reservations and handle all the other tasks need to make your tour that perfect day.

If the host of the party knows what wine tasting is all about, he or she should cover the table with white linen. This doesn’t only look pretty, but it will also serve its purpose where you will be able to examine the wine.

Don’t get the idea that wine tasting is all about getting drunk, you should take tiny sips to capture the true flavor. After having wine inside your mouth, you should taste the wine by rolling it around your tongue a few times before spitting it or swallowing it slowly.
